Now with a team of six experienced riders and two electric cargo bikes, the ZMOVE team is becoming ever more capable and will begin several regular single, multi-drop and courier services for new clients over the next month. Really exciting times! Watch this space for launch news..
As we learn the zero-emission ropes, our customers are an enormous source of learning and motivation. Robbie, from Northern Rye, published these views about our rider team this week:
“We’ve been using @ZMOVE2 for our wholesale deliveries over the past 2 weeks. Zero emissions, quick, professional, always on time and a nice bunch too! It would be great to see more of these bikes around town instead of vans.”
ZMOVE’s first day of delivery was Wednesday April 24th, with rider Louis making an inaugural drop of Pink Lane Bakery bread to Quillam Brothers. We celebrated by cycling over to Gateshead and having a quick brew as route research and learning continues.
Our friends at Recyke y’bike, a charity based in Byker, are in the process of moving from their old location under the arches to their recently acquired premises on Brinkburn Street on the other side of Shields Road.
At ZMOVE, we were keen to help out and get some much needed experience with the new trike, fully loaded. Nick and I went down to help.
Later that morning I spoke to Nick and Sara of Recyke y’bike about the day and what they were doing.
With starter team interviews next week, we are busy developing branding, procedures, routing and systems, aiming to go live immediately after Easter. This start up phase is tough but the reaction of so many we meet, like Matt and Will from Newcastle University pictured here, continues to make us believe ZMOVE has a vital place in our beautiful, growing city.
The first of our cargo bikes arrives from Germany.
We’ve now placed our first order for one of the big bikes from Radkutsche , these photos are from the production line and our bike!!
