Good medicine….

Our riders have now completed 6000 medical home deliveries for Newcastle Hospitals across Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside. They’ve pedalled 6200 miles (Newcastle to Tokyo equivalent) since the autumn, avoiding the emission of 2.7 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent and 6 kilogrammes of nitrous oxide (when compared with combustion-engined cars/vans) in doing so. We think this is the cleanest way to locally deliver pharmaceuticals at scale, with ZMOVE’s skilled riders and lightweight cargo bikes navigating city and suburban streets quickly and quietly daily, each making up to 60 deliveries in one long ride. This example shows the climate emergency contribution ultra low emission compact logistics can make, showing the UK can responsibly transition much lightweight last mile freight away from it’s 55 billion annual van miles at speed, reducing carbon consumption and urban air pollution. Why aren’t we doing more?
